TEAM Bark / Pet ID Campaign
The Emma Zen Foundation is TEAMing up with BARKCODE, to form our TEAM Bark Campaign. Emma Zen herself, our foundations namesake is a shelter survivor. However many shelter pets turn up lost and back in the shelters during their first week in their new homes. This happens for two prominent reasons. First the micro chip that most shelters initiate for you can take up to two weeks to register your information and most shelters do not have an ID tag machine available for you on their locations, leaving the individual with the opportunity to delay this vital life saving errand.
You can make a difference in your community or in a community at need. A simple donation allows us to take our Pet Safety ID tag at wholesale prices and donate them straight to shelters so that each new person can register their new pet before they ever leave the premises! With BARKCODE fewer pets will be returned to shelters and will find their way back to their new homes! If every pet had the proper ID it would cut down on over crowded shelters and the number of euthanize pets.
Our donations amount for this program is set at $100.00 per donation. This is because a little goes a long way in this case. Each $100.00 donation will allow us to supply 30 pet identification tags. You will not find an option of this program on our donation page and must use the donation button below.

Note on Statistic:
According to the National Council on Pet Population Study and Policy (NCPPSP), less than 2 percent of cats and only 15 to 20 percent of dogs are returned to their owners. Most of these were identified with identification such as tags.
Data indicates that one out of three pets will become lost in their lifetime, and 90% of lost pets never find their way home because they have no identification. An even scarier statistic is that 30-60% of those pets will be euthanize at animal shelters because they have no identification. (Animal Medical Hospital)
Census show that there is a high rate of pets returning to shelters due from run away. These are the figures we are aiming to change. This programs offers pets an immediate way home with a changeable ID that allows instant contact to anywhere you roam! This program changes statistics only with placement of these tags in shelters. You can make a difference and save lives by helping us to get this identification system in ours and your local shelters!
