My name is Debra Jo and I am a female and the president of the Emma Zen Foundation. One day I answered the phone to hear a 45-ish sounding man on the phone crying. I could barely make out his words. "Are you the lady *sniff sniff* who donates Pet Oxygen Masks *sniffle*? Yes.. "Well, today I lost (the tears started coming) a Basset Hound...... and the emotion of the lost poured out of him. He went on to tell us how deviating this was after 25 years in the department. I can't imagine all you'd see if you have been in the fire department that long. But I can understand how you would have to get adapted to lose and tragedy. However the emotions that stick with us about our pets run so much deeper than we sometimes expect. This fire fighter grew up with a Bassett Hound (as did I) and it brought him to a state of despair. Their department now carries Pet Oxygen Masks!
